How we work
Bangla Media Fact Check is the verification desk of Bangla Media Hub. We check claims, viral photos and videos, and news shared on social media.
Our process
- We trace where the claim first appeared.
- We compare it with official records, reliable media, experts and primary sources.
- For images and video we use reverse image search, metadata and context checks.
- Every report links its sources so readers can check for themselves.
What our verdicts mean
TrueThe claim is supported by reliable evidence.
Partly trueSome parts are accurate, others wrong or incomplete.
MisleadingFacts may be accurate but presented out of context or distorted.
Altered mediaThe photo or video was edited or manipulated.
AI-generatedThe photo, video or audio was made with AI.
FalseReliable evidence shows the claim is false.
UnprovenNot enough evidence to verify either way.
Use of AI
We use AI assistants to help find sources and draft reports, but an editor reviews every verdict before publication. The “Image check” tool is automatic — it reads image metadata and does not give final verdicts.
Non-partisanship & corrections
We do not work for any party or group; claims from all sides are checked by the same standard. If we get something wrong, we correct it and note the correction on the report. Report an error or send a request.
